2B’s Memory — A Tie for 9S

In Memory Thorn, I came to understand 2B’s memories through 9S’s perspective. To him, her memories are thorny, twisted, and entwined—a reflection of the pain she endured. Yet, 2B’s final message to 9S was: ‘The time I was able to spend with you, it was like memories of pure light.’ I depicted this ‘pure light’ as Lunar Tears growing wildly and chaotically among the twisted thorns, symbolizing how her pain is hidden beneath the beauty of those radiant memories. 9S is the one who truly feels the weight of her suffering, and to honor that, I chose to sew her memory into the tie, allowing him to carry it close to his heart—a constant reminder of her pain, her light, and their connection.
